Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week 2012

Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week launched last Wednesday, May 23 kicking off with a VIP Party / Meet and Greet for fashion insiders to exchange business and get to know each other. Being that the Fashion Scene in Miami is blowing up, I couldn't think of a better time for this event to happen.

It was a success attended by Fashion Designers, Buyers, Media, Models and Fashionistas. There was a friendly and energetic air, and a lot of exchanging of cards, ideas and good conversation.

Philip Stienstra, Maxine Viktor - Founders of MMIFW

Special thanks to Maxine Viktor, Co-Founder of MMIFW and Ashely Cumberland of LMNT Gallery who were class-A hosts. There were many more involved in the making of this outstanding event such as Co-Founder Philip Stienstra, PASA Event Productions LLC, Creativas Group and LMNT.

Day two of MMIFW featured Day Wear, starting off the show with work by students from AIU - American Intercontinental University. Then a show down of designs by Candy Woolley Accessories, Yera Brand by Kinsey London, Abeyo Marqz, Claudine Stark, and Sacred Heart Collection by Brandi Russel. Designs by the AIU Fashion Students were a pleasant surprise. There were several great pieces to pick out as either consumer conscious or fabulously designed with attention to detail. I personally enjoyed the subtle sequins on the jackets - just a touch is just enough (shown to the left). There was some nice draping of fabrics and a show-stopping green print dress with a drop v-neck line and a ton of fabric following the girl with wonderful flow (shown below).

This was one of my favorites. I'm a big fan of sequins, if you haven't noticed. This jacket would make a great addition to any simple dress or out fit. It can also be dressed up or dressed down for a hip look. Love it.

I'm dying over this flowy romper. Made with silk fabric, great movement and exquisite design.

Super hip. The combination of a classically taylored yet fun blazer paired with casual cut off short jeans is perfection.
